Price of Agro-foodstuff Rose Slightly
According to monitoring by MOFCOM in 36 medium and large sized cities last week (June 10-16), price of agro-foodstuff rose slightly, and price of material for production fell consecutively for five weeks.
Retail prices of edible oil and cereals fluctuated slightly, of which small package of rice, peanut oil and rapeseed oil were up by 0.2%, 0.1% and 0.1% respectively, small package of flour remained unchanged as compared with that of previous week, while soybean oil fell by 0.2%.Wholesale price of some meat rose, whilesome fell, of which the wholesale price of pork was down by0.2% after rising for three consecutive weeks, beef fell by 0.1%, while lamb rose by 0.5%.The retail prices of chicken and egg saw a slight rise, and the price of eggs and chicken were up by 0.1% as compared with that of the previous week.The average wholesale prices of 8 kinds of aquatic products were up by 1.2% as compared with that of the previous week, top price rises are small cutlass fish, crucian carp and grass carp, up by 4.2%, 1.4% and 1.3%respectively.The wholesale prices of 18 vegetables were down by 0.3% as compared with that of the previous week, top drop in price are that of onions, garlic and potatoes, down by 7.6%, 5.9% and 5.2%respectively over the previous six weeks.
Of major materials for production, price of non-ferrous metals, rubber, steel, materials for agricultural production and building materials fell, while price of mineral products, materials for light industry, energy resources and chemical products remained unchanged.Price of non-ferrous metal was down by1.3%, of which nickel #1, copper #1 and zinc #1 fell by 3.9%, 2.5% and 1.7% respectively, tin #1 and aluminum A00 fell by 0.7% and 0.6% respectively, and lead #1 remained unchanged. The price of rubber fell by 1.2%, down by 5.3% on an accumulative basis over the previous four weeks due to increasing market supply, and home-produced #1rubber and imported RSS #3fell by 2.4% and 2.1% respectively.The price of steel fell by 0.4%, with the price of14# I-beam, channel steel #8 and 3mm ordinary hot-rolled sheet falling by 3%, 0.5% and 0.4% respectively. Prices of material for agriculture production fell by 0.1%, of which urea was down by 0.1%.The price of mineral products remained unchanged, of which zinc ore and copper ore were down by 1.3% and 1% respectively, while tungsten ore rose by 2.5%. The price of materials for light industry remained unchanged, of which the price of cotton remain unchanged. The price of chemical products remain unchanged, of which phthalic anhydride and styrene were down by 1.2% and 1% respectively, while low density polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride were up by 0.4% and 0.3% respectively.
